Editathon Particpation

Editathon Particpation

Anyone who is interested can participate in virtual Thesaurus Editathons and help with updating the Zine Subject Thesaurus.

The Zine Thesaurus Management Collective runs the Editathons and occasionally recruits new participants by emailing the Zine Libraries email list and in other ways. There is a sample message template you can use called "Recruit Editathon Participants" in our message templates file.

When you receive a request to participate in Editathons from a new person, you can send them the "Interested in Joining Editathons" message template.

After they reply and tell you which dates they plan to attend, you can send them calendar invitations for those dates (or ask the owner of the events to send them). Also note which email address they want to use for the calendar invitations, the shared drive, and the website user account.

Before the new participant's first editathon, you must:

  • Add them to the Zine Thesaurus Editing shared folder
  • Ask Amanda to create a user account for them on the Anchor Archive website

After first Editathon

After the new participant has attended their first Editathon, send them the message template "Following First Editathon" and provide any support they need to continue participating.

Invite them to join the Zine Thesaurus Editathon email list.

After third Editathon

Ask the person if they would like to be added to the list of Zine Thesaurus editors on the Anchor Archive website.
