Zine Fest Residency!
We’re excited to announce that we’re accepting applications for a zine fest residency! We will invite 2 zine-makers to stay in K'jipuktuk, Mi’kma’ki (Halifax, Nova Scotia) for 2 weeks and work on zine projects to present at the Anchor Archive Zine Fest on October 3, 2020.
Residents will be provided with housing, a travel stipend, shared studio space, zine-making supplies, printing and photocopying facilities, and community support.
The residency will start around September 19th and culminate in the Anchor Archive Zine Fest (formerly the Halifax Zine Fair – now in its 21st year). Residents will be able to table and sell their work at the zine fair on October 3rd.
We also want each resident to lead a workshop or discussion or have some kind of presentation of their work for the community during the Zine Fest. The idea is to share your skills, work, ideas, knowledge, and/or stories with the local zine-making community in some way.
While you do not have to be an experienced zine-maker to apply, the project must be a zine or zine-related. Two people who want to collaborate are totally welcome to apply.
Please note applications are due alarmingly soon! On March 12th! You can apply by filling out the form below. You’re also welcome to send samples of your work and questions to firstname.lastname@example.org
This residency is dependent on grant funding, which will be confirmed in June 2020.
