Move a term to the Summary field
If a cataloguer has added a subject term that is a proper noun or is too specific to be a subject term in the Thesaurus, but you still want people to be able to find the zine if they search for that word in the catalogue, you can move it to the Summary field of the zine record.
-
Open and edit the record for the zine that has the "bad" term.
-
Add the "bad" term to the Summary field in sentence format. For example, “Includes an interview with Patti Smith” or “Includes recipes for crackers, stew, and guacamole.”
-
Save the edited zine record.
-
Repeat for any other zine records that have the bad term in them.
-
Follow the instructions for Delete the Term to delete the bad term from the thesaurus. This will automatically delete the term as a subject term from each of the zine records so you don't have to delete it from them individually.
